The tuber represented by Bŭ-cēi could interestingly respond to the widely used plant metaphors in contemporary art discourse, such as that of rhizome. Bŭ-cēi stresses the "everydayness" of its edible feature and the storage function of the botanical "tuber" might better reflect the communal habits and cultural resilience of Wenzhou people in their migratory-settlement pattern.

If the coronation of a cultural heritage recognizes its historical value for today, speculative design would be today’s effort to annotate the cultural narrative for tomorrow.

The ecological metaphor observed in tree burials possesses deep philosophical thinking, and its universal appeal is able to shift the ethical views in traditional Chinese culture. For this purpose, the renewal of a ceremony that has been long passed down in rural areas could help with the localization of tree burial culture in China, further establishing a long-term mechanism that connects the festival life of urban and rural residents at watershed scale.
