About

  地域精神实验室 (LoST) 致力于探索地域场所精神在当代文化语境下的学术阐释与艺术呈现。实验室认为，造成当下广泛心理危机的原因之一，恰在于当代的创造意识尚未充分连接我们的心智与所栖居的地方 。实验室目前关注的议题有：景观记忆体、文化遗产当代性、知识生产体系批判、社会心理症候研究等。

当前，实验室将其工作划分为制作和写作两个部分。制作部分以艺术作品和设计提案的方式意图为地域场所精神显影，写作部分主要针对实验性的设计叙事作理论上的思考。在未来的行动中，实验室将拓展合作边界，与不同背景的艺术家、研究者持续协作创新，共同演化！

The Lab of Spiritual Territories (LoST) is dedicated to exploring the academic interpretation and artistic presentation of territorial spirit in the contemporary context. The laboratory posits that one reason for the current widespread psychological crisis lies precisely in the fact that contemporary creative consciousness has not yet fully connected our minds with the places we inhabit. The key issues currently being addressed by the laboratory include: landscape memory, the contemporaneity of cultural heritage, critiques of knowledge production systems, and research on psychosocial symptoms.

At present, the Lab categorizes its work into sections of making and writing. The making section intends to reveal territorial spirit through artworks and design proposals. The writing section concentrates on articulating corresponding theoretical thinking for experimental design narratives. In the future, the Lab plans to collaborate with artists and researchers of different backgrounds, allowing for innovation and co-evolution to continuously take place！

本科毕业于佐治亚大学工作室艺术专业，硕士毕业于宾夕法尼亚大学景观建筑学专业。他的跨学科背景促使其在创作实践中经常装配不同的作品形式，并在场域生成的过程中寻觅因地制宜的策略。经常使用的创作媒介有数字图绘、设计叙事、绘画、装置、身体、影像等。

CHEN Jiacheng
Researcher / Artmaker

Jiacheng studied Studio Arts at the University of Georgia and Landscape Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania. The transdisciplinary background drives him to assemble different forms of work in the creative practice, looking for strategies tailored to local situations in a field state of becoming. Commonly used working methods include digital drawing, design narrative, painting, installation, body, video, etc.
