  地域精神实验室认为当前人类社会亟需调适的一种文化危机在于“普遍心智”与“域中身体”的断裂。实验室致力于探索地域精神在当代文化语境下的艺术实践与学术阐释，并将其工作范畴划分为制作和写作两个部分：前者通过艺术作品和设计叙事为地域精神显影，后者主要为实践作理论上的澄清。

目前实验室涉及的议题有：生活记忆的身体性建构、文化遗产的当代能动性、深时视角下的景观演化等。 未来，实验室的合作边界将被不断拓展，并期待与来自不同背景的艺术家、研究者、设计师、文化实践者协作共创。

The Lab of Spiritual Territories (LoST) posits that one cultural crisis that human society urgently needs to mediate hides in the fracture between the general mind and the body-in-territory. The Lab is dedicated to exploring the artistic practice and academic interpretation of territorial spirit in the contemporary cultural context. Its work is categorized into sections of Making and Writing. While the Making Section intends to reveal territorial spirit through artworks and design narratives, the Writing Section concentrates on articulating the corresponding theoretical thinking for praxis.

For now, the key issues addressed by the Lab include: the construction of corporeality in life memory, the contemporary agency of cultural heritage, and landscape evolution in the scope of deep time. In the future, the Lab plans to expand its collaborative boundary to co-evolve with artists, researchers, designers and cultural practitioners from different backgrounds.

本科毕业于佐治亚大学工作室艺术专业，硕士毕业于宾夕法尼亚大学景观建筑学专业。他的跨学科背景促使其在创作实践中灵活组合不同的作品形式，并在场域生成的过程中因地制宜地采取策略。经常使用的创作媒介有图绘、设计叙事、装置、文本、影像等。

CHEN Jiacheng
artist / researcher

Jiacheng obtained his bachelor's degree in Studio Art at the University of Georgia and his master's degree in Landscape Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania. The transdisciplinary background drives him to flexibly assemble different forms of work in praxis, adopting strategies tailored to local situations in a field state of becoming. Commonly used working methods include drawing, design narrative, installation, text, video, etc.
